EMILIA TAN MEI SHIA, 陈美霞, graduated in 2003. She is the Managing Director of myBatik.

2015   – Received the Tokoh Wanita Muda (Outstanding Young Women) Award in Creative Arts by

National Council of Women’s Organisation Malaysia.

2013    – Listed in the ‘TOP 40 UNDER 40’ by RHB BANK & Prestige Magazine Malaysia.

2009    – Received the Outstanding Members Award by Malaysian Retailer Chain Association (MRCA).

 

Emilia Tan is the owner and the founder of myBatik Kuala Lumpur, a batik company which provides all types of batik incorporated services to the country and community such as batik art activities for corporate team building and personal batik workshops. Her company exposes batik to a wider audience and can be regarded as a guardian of the unique Malaysian heritage.

Emilia highlights “MIA is a good institute as the lecturers are experienced and the school environment is excellent. As a design student, I always needed to spend a lot on the art materials so I am glad that the school fee is affordable to lessen my financial burden.”
