Now is the second issue for 2012, almost mid of the year of 2012. We just over celebrate the National Craft Day and now come to the another one, My Batik Fashion Show for the Secretaries Week on 24 April 2012.
I am a bit upset with the National Craft Day, as the branding awareness is still not there yet. Batik producers selling almost the same products as last year and the pricing is still the same as well. Since the design & pattern are almost the same, so they see no point to raise the price. So the bottom line is, if you want to sell your products into a better price, so you should have a better products. Products development is very important, and branding as well. Batik producers, please come out a proper label for your batik items, give your products a trademark, this is your intellectual property. Otherwise you will never ending let other to copy your design. Also never forget to invest a little bit in advertisement, to explore your brand to the markets, and use the social media to intellect with your buyers.
Every year Secretaries Week, we bring in the Phua Chu Kang, the Singapore’s very own Jim Carey, Gurmit Singh. He is the award winning comedian, an uncouth Chinese blue-collar worker. Have fits laughter while relishing the sumptuous cuisine created specially for this occasion by Eastin Hotel Chefs. The most important is being amazed with colours of Malaysian Batik Fashion Show, brought to you by myBatik.
Another big thing in this issue, of course is the INACRAFT exhibition in Jakarta Convention Centre. We are proud to be the Official Media Partner to INACRAFT 2012. Obviously, myBatik magazine is expending the distribution and circulation into the Indonesia market now.
For the coming months, everyone in the batik industry is busy preparing the batik fabric for the Raya month, which fall in this August 2012. This time Raya is coming slightly earlier than before. So please take note, for the batik lovers, please get your batik fabric earlier and send for tailors, to avoid any disappointment on the last minute tailoring services.
Good news to share is, since the launch of myBatik magazine in 2007 till date, our readership of subscription is increasing 50% each year. The platform of myBatik currently become bigger and stronger.
